I have just finished my stay in my first Vietnam Backpackers Hostel and I am gutted I haven't stayed! As they say they are more than just a bed. We arrived in Mui Ne for a 4 day break before heading to Ho Chi Minh and the stay was so much better than expected. I loved every second of our stay, there was always something to do and here's a review to show exactly why you should stay at Vietnam Backpackers Village in Mui Ne.
VBH are known as THE party hostel throughout Vietnam, and with 10 different venues scattered around Vietnam you'll always be able to find one no matter where you are heading to on your trip. The accommodation offers a variety of different sleeping arrangements, with dorms ranging from 4-12 bed dorms to private rooms for two. Every room comes with AC, ceiling fans, personal lockers, reading lights and two plug sockets. With prices starting at £3 for a dorm room, and ending at around £15 for a 3 bed private room there is something for everyone situation.
We visited in low season, so the rooms were relatively quiet - Always someone in there to talk to, but not so many you'd struggle to sleep. (and I really need my sleep so this was perfect) All the rooms overlook the pool outside, surrounded by palm trees and fresh coconuts growing to it's a really relaxing spot to be.
The Vietnam Backpackers Hostel is the best choice for your if you like to ;
A, Be social and make lots of other backpacker friends.
B, Have a good old party!
You can spend your days swimming and sunbathing around the pool, which is located right in front of the bar so easy to get a drink in your hand within seconds. They play chill out songs all day long and serve food in the patio restaurant at all hours. The events are great, the staff try and make it enjoyable for everybody and love to mingle within the groups. We had George, Gaby and Harry as our reps during our stay and they were constantly checking in on us, asking us what Happy Hour deals we wanted the most and organising games throughout the evening to help all the groups join together. The events change every night, they have a Miami theme on Mondays, Tropical Tuesdays which involves their famous Jungle Juice cocktails (definitely give them a try! Even better at happy hours 241!) Karaoke, Games night, Beer Olympics, UV party and Ping pong tournaments throughout the week. On top of this they also run extra events - Oktoberfest is happening at the moment so they'e brought in some German draft beer in steins and bratwurst sausages which are to die for, and will only cost you 90k for them in a combo deal!
The bar closes at midnight so the bar staff can go to bed ready to set up for FREE breakfast in the morning. The reps will then take you to the local bar called Dragon Beach - Always busy, right next to the sea and plays loud dance music until the early hours. If you don't feel like heading to the club, don't worry that is perfectly fine. We'd sit around the pool and just talk while laying in the beach beds watching thunderstorms. It's a perfect spot if you don't fancy a big night.
The staff are happy to help with any questions and can give you the best advice on where to go and what to see. At the reception you can book your buses to most places on your trip, including Siagon, Dalat, Hanoi, Hoi An and many more. You can also book tours directly from the hostel itself. We did the sunset tour in a jeep for 120k. This tour took us to the Fairy Stream (15k entry fee), Fishing Village, White Sandunes (220k for jeep to take you to the top, 600k for quad bike) Or you can walk for free and finally to the Red Sandunes where you can slide down on plastic sheets or just sit and enjoy the sunset on a clear day. All before bringing you back just in time for free beer between 6-7pm!
Overall, I would highly recommend Vietnam Backpackers Hostel collection to everyone. Everybody is friendly and it's easy to make friend. There's plenty to do around as all the venues are located in the main areas of each destination. The venue is very clean! Our rooms were cleaned every day and the bathrooms cleaned multiple times throughout the day.
If I was to come back to Vietnam, I'd 100% stay here again, and try out some of the other destinations to. I hope one day they expand and we can party with them in another country too!
